Avalanches on Mars

This amazing photo shows a rock and ice avalanche on the surface of Mars. It is part of an image that captures 4 such events. The cliff is about 700 m high and the reflective white material is Carbon Dioxide frost.

That is cool...

So, no rock climbing on Mars then - not safe

Need to fire frikkin laser beams into the rock to get rid of the loose stuff first (or hit it with beagle 3).
Climbing in reduced gravity would be different.

Might be safer late summer
